Calico Basin Scrambling
Out in Nevada, we're so spoiled with amazing hiking. These pics are from a recent scramble I did around Calico Basin.
The original goal was to rappel off the top of Moderate Mecca. But, I decided instead to make it an improvised scramble/traverse across the entire area.
I really liked this spot. Very secluded. Lots of hollow & loose rock suggests it has rarely been visited.
Peaceful. Yoga time?

Pretty rock at the summit. Lots of "graffiti carvings" here. Folks need to prove they exist by carving into stone. Something very human about that impulse.. I did not join.
Taking photos with perspective is always fun.
An absolutely stunning wall on the far end. Might need to come back to climb this.
Easy scrambling descent off the side
About 20 minutes from sunset. Sadly, I didn't take a sunset pic. 🤦♂️
That's all. It's fantastic out here. Just don't come in the summer.
